Upcoming Elections for the Second ASAF Board

The ASAF Network will hold elections in mid-October for its second Board, guiding future decisions and management. Detailed election information will be shared soon, with current Board members available to answer questions. All ordinary ASAF members are eligible to stand and be voted onto the Board according to ASAF statute 6,1,1.

We are excited to announce that the elections for the second ASAF Board are scheduled for beginning of November . This marks a significant milestone as the ASAF Network continues to grow, fuelled by the work and dedication of our volunteers. The Board is responsible for coordinating the general functioning of ASAF, coordinating the Task Forces, preparing the Meetings of Members (MoM), executing decisions of the Meeting of Members and contributing to the fruitful development of ASAF. The Board represents ASAF both continentally and globally, serving as the primary point of contact with the European Union and African Union. The Board is composed of nine elected members who serve a term of two years, with the possibility of re-election for one additional term.

As we prepare for this new chapter, ASAF is also working diligently to establish the criteria and commitments for Board members. If you are interested and motivated to be part of the ASAF Board, please keep an eye out for detailed information on the election process, which will be shared in the coming weeks. We will provide you with all the necessary details well in advance.

To learn more about the responsibilities, workload, and expectations of being a Board member, we encourage you to contact the current ASAF Board through the ASAF online community. Additionally, we recommend reviewing the current ASAF statutes and Rules and Regulations, which can be accessed here.
