From November 24 to 26, 2023, the Meikles Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe, set the stage for the meeting of the African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF) Board and Task Forces. This Task Force meeting, held from November 25 to 26, provided a significant opportunity to discuss crucial organisational matters, evaluate the accomplishments of 2023, and plan future initiatives for each ASAF Task Force.

The meeting commenced with an inspiring welcome message from Alexandre Zoumman, ASAF Vice-President, followed by a detailed presentation of the agenda for the upcoming two days. Participants had the chance to introduce themselves, creating an atmosphere conducive to collaboration and exchange.

Objectives for the meeting were set interactively, allowing participants to express their expectations collaboratively. The structure of a Task Force, along with ASAF's overall vision and mission, was outlined, highlighting key roles such as the Liaison Officer, Co-Speakers, and Task Force members.

An online intervention by the EACEA (European Education and Culture Executive Agency) was organised, bringing together the Board and Task Force members in a virtual space to share crucial information and perspectives.

The first day concluded with the presentation of activity reports from each ASAF Task Force, with a strict 5-minute limit per group. Task Forces include the Communications Task Force, Research and Survey Task Force, Internal Affairs Task Force, International Collaboration and Cooperation Task Force, Membership Promotion and Activation Task Force, and Capacity Development Task Force.

The second day was dedicated to individual working sessions for each Task Force during the Breakout Session. Participants, divided into working groups, reflected on the action plan for 2024, developed a list of needs to implement proposed activities, and defined the long-term vision for their Task Force.

This meeting allowed ASAF to solidify its foundation, align its strategic objectives, and strengthen cooperation among its various components. ASAF members leave Harare with a clear vision for the future and a renewed commitment to the organisation's mission.
