Study in Europe Fair: unlocking opportunities for Nigerian students
The European Union Delegation in Nigeria recently organised the Study in Europe Fair, held in Kano and Lagos on 27 February and 1 March. This exciting event brought together over 2,000 students, educators, and university representatives to explore world-class universities and career opportunities across Europe.
The Study in Europe fair offered a unique platform for participants to engage directly with representatives from top European universities and higher education institutions. Discussions revolved around admissions processes, available scholarships and grants, country-specific requirements, and other key aspects of studying in Europe.
The event showcased study opportunities from Hungary, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Czech Republic, and France, including the Erasmus+ and HorizonEurope programmes.
Mr Gautier Mignot, EU Ambassador to Nigeria, led a thought-provoking discussion on the European Union's investment in Nigerian youth with the Kano state government and Lagos State government respectively.
ASAF stakeholders, including Nigeria Co-ambassadors Donaldson Ofoha and Chidimma Tonia Uzoma, together with Youssoufou Daouda Labot, Committee Member within the Diversity & Inclusion Mobility Programme, shared their mobility experiences and engaged in strategic dialogue with parents and students. They highlighted the benefits of studying abroad through Erasmus+ programmes such as: Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters, Erasmus Mundus design measures, Jean Monnet Actions, International Credit Mobility, Capacity building in higher education, as well as virtual exchanges for students and professors in Higher Education Institutes and Capacity Building.
This event marked a significant milestone in strengthening engagement in the fields of higher education, research, and innovation between Nigeria and the European Union.
By fostering partnerships and expanding access to world-class education, cutting-edge research, and academic mobility, we are shaping a future where knowledge and opportunity know no borders.
