Announcement: ASAF’s Newly Elected Board Members
ASAF welcomes its newly elected Board, poised to lead knowledge-sharing and educational mobility initiatives across Africa.
We are pleased to introduce the nine new members elected to the ASAF Board, selected through a comprehensive and inclusive process as outlined in the ASAF Rules of Procedure. Following the recent election, the candidates have been carefully collated to meet ASAF’s diversity and inclusion criteria, ensuring balanced representation across regions, genders, mobility programs, and linguistic backgrounds.
The final nine members of the ASAF Board for the upcoming term are as follows:
- Daniel Wafo Fosso (156 votes, Central Africa, Cameroon, Intra Africa)
- Selected as the candidate with the highest number of votes.
- Nada Joumar (138 votes, North Africa, Morocco, Erasmus+)
- Chosen from a different gender than (A) with the highest vote in remaining regions.
- Alexandre Aurel Zoumman (113 votes, Western Africa, Benin, Intra Africa)
- Selected as the candidate with the highest vote in remaining regions.
- Kangwa Chilekwa (110 votes, Southern Africa, Zambia, Erasmus+)
- Chosen from an underrepresented gender with the highest vote in remaining regions.
- Roshan Halkhoree (76 votes, East Africa, Mauritius, Erasmus+)
- Selected as the highest-voted candidate in the final regional list.
- Briand Rovaniaina (42 votes, Intra ACP, Madagascar, currently residing in Germany)
- Added to represent the Intra ACP program, with the highest number of votes.
- Elizabeth Mang’eni (30 votes, East Africa, Kenya, Nyerere)
- Added to represent the Nyerere program, with the highest number of votes.
- Nelly Adjoa Sakyi-Hagan (69 votes, Western Africa, Ghana, Erasmus+)
- Selected based on remaining criteria to achieve balance in mobility types (AU-AU/AU-EU), gender, and language representation, with the highest number of votes.
- Prince Orphon Malounou (54 votes, Erasmus+, Central Africa, Republic of Congo, Erasmus+, currently residing in France)
- Selected based on remaining criteria to achieve balance in language representation, with the highest number of votes.
Board composition:
- Mobility balance: Four members from African Union-African Union mobilities (2 Intra Africa, 1 Intra ACP, 1 Nyerere), and five from African Union-European Union mobilities (Erasmus+).
- Gender balance: Five males and four female members.
- Linguistic balance: Seven members are bilingual, one speaks only English, and one speaks only French.
- Diaspora representation: Two members currently residing outside of Africa.
