8 ASAF members selected for 2063 Academy by Atlas4Development
8 ASAF members have been selected to take part in the 2063 Academy by Atlas4Developement, a pan-African initiative which will start on 23 November 2020.
After ASAF established a partnership with Atlas4Development for their project 2063 Academy, 8 ASAF members will have the opportunity to take part in this unique pan-African initiative. They have already been contacted and provided with all necessary information by the organiser.
We are sure that the selected members are very much looking forward to the 2063 Academy, which aims to promote the Agenda 2063 of the African Union among Africa’s young generation and private institutions.
With the help of experts from the Peace First Team, the selected ASAF members will organise and implement their own project to promote the Agenda 2063 and therefore create a better Africa 2063. The project is divided into 3 main phases:
- Phase I: The Academy activities (23-28 November)
- Phase II: Peace First Mentorship (December 2020)
- Phase III: Project's implementation with the support of a grant (January-March)
This year’s edition will focus on the two topics climate change and gender equality. Our ASAF members and the other participants from all over Africa will have the opportunity to discuss, debate and come up with own solutions. The participants, after completing the programme and writing a report on their project, will receive a certificate of accomplishment.
What’s more, the organiser announced that they warmly invite any ASAF member to join the Academy, however only those 8 members who have been officially selected will receive a grant to develop and implement their own project. We ill provide you with more information in due time.
A special thanks goes to our members Yamungu Alongo Bonfiace and Imane Benrabiaa, who volunteered to facilitate the collaboration process with the organiser Atlas4Development and ASAF as a partner.
We will soon create a group in the ASAF online Community for the participants and the two facilitators to prepare ASAF’s participation.
Last but not least, we are very happy that ASAF can offer this unique opportunity to its members and are looking forward to hearing from the ASAF participants with regard to their experiences.
