ASAF held a successful 3rd Board Meeting in Nairobi, Kenya in preparation for the 3rd ASAF Annual General Forum.
Nairobi, Kenya - The African Students and Alumni Forum (ASAF) recently conducted its highly anticipated 3rd Board Meeting on 01st/06/2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. The event served as a crucial step in the preparation for the upcoming 3rd ASAF Annual General Forum, which was held from 02nd – 04th / June /2023, also in Nairobi.
The ASAF board convened in Nairobi, demonstrating their commitment to fostering mobility and academic exchange in Africa and among African Students and Alumni. The gathering was marked by enthusiastic participation, constructive discussions, and strategic planning aimed at AGF final preparations.
During the meeting, the Board members assessed the progress made since the previous meeting in Ivory Coast and evaluated the various initiatives implemented by Board members through their liaison offices, committees and task forces. The Board members brainstormed solutions and strategies to address different challenges in different liaison offices.
The ASAF Board Meeting laid the groundwork for the subsequent ASAF Annual General Forum, an event that brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, alumni, educators, EUD, AU and Ministry of Higher Education Kenya. The board worked on the content of the AGF, planned to be a three-day forum that comprised of keynote speeches, panel discussions, Agora, public conference, networking opportunities, cultural dinner and a cultural tour to the Giraffe Center and Bomas of Kenya.
Then a close discussion happened about the strategic plan for the amendment of the statutes to be proposed to the general assembly with the board liaison for internal affairs who proposed a realistic and efficient strategy to collect feedback from members and study the implementation of the proposed amendments.
Before closing the meeting, we had a preparatory discussion about the agenda of the meeting and role distributions with the three moderators of the event who were for the first time only ASAF members.
As the 3rd Board Meeting concludes successfully, ASAF looks forward to implementing the outcomes and recommendations generated from the Board meeting and the Annual General Forum. The Forum remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering African Students and Alumni and promoting a brighter future for Africa as a whole.
